Enter to Win Peter's Rainbow Dyed Sheep Fleece! $10 per Raffle Ticket

Sold out.

JPeter the Wensleydale/Teeswater sheep has grown his gorgeous locks ALL YEAR and and will be donating his fleece to FiberTrain Festival 2017!

Last year Peter's rainbow-dyed locks measured 10-12 INCHES long! He will be dyed in rainbow color order with Jacquard certified non-toxic dyes on Friday before FiberTrain Fest. We expect his fleece to weigh between 7-9 lbs, and raw wensleydale fleece price market value is $30-60 per lb. (The dye process is safe for Peter, just like getting a warm bath! The dye can be "set" after the winner receives their fleece by soaking it in warm water and white vinegar.)

You can come meet Peter in person, pet his rainbow fleece, and then watch him get sheared on Monday at FiberTrain Festival! Peter may be able to make additional appearances at the Nampa Farmers Market prior to FTF, so watch our Facebook page for visit times!

  • Sheep shearings to commence at 3pm on Monday, May 29.
  • We'll take raffle entries at $10 per ticket RIGHT HERE, or at the FTF Info Booth
  • Winner to be announced at 5pm MST on Monday  May 29, from the FTF Main Stage and shortly after in Facebook
  • Watch the VIDEO of Peter getting his wool sheared in 2014 below!
All proceeds from Peter's Fleece Raffle go to defraying FiberTrain Festival operation costs and transport of our guest instructors.

*Fleece winner will be announced from FiberTrain Festival's main-stage at 5pm, and the winner will be notified via email or phone contact as listed if they are not present to claim their fleece.

Fleece winner agrees to pay $20 shipping costs to anywhere in the US if they win the fleece and are not present to claim it by close of FiberTrain Festival at 6pm on Monday May 29 at 5pm. In the event the fleece winner can not be contacted or the name drawn does not include contact email/info, the winning name will forfeit their prize and another name will be drawn.
